However, King James is also thinking ahead as he knows that he is very near to the end of his illustrious NBA career. The 36 year old is currently contracted to the Lakers till 2023.

LeBron James is not going to quit basketball and wonder what he is going to do next.

James considers himself an astute businessman and is very keen on owning an NBA franchise. The rules of the NBA make it clear that a player cannot own an NBA franchise. This means that James will have to retire before he can make a bid to buy out an NBA franchise.

Since NBA franchises are not put on the market very often, this will have to be a strategic decision from James. King James made it clear that he is looking to own an NBA franchise sooner rather than later which means it is probably going to be after 2024.

James has made his intentions clear that one of his dreams is to get to play with his son Bronny James in the same team before he calls time on his NBA career. At the moment, the 16 year old Bronny James players for the basketball team at Sierra Canyon High School in L.A.
