Dana White and Cris Cyborg

UFC President Dana White did not take kindly to Cris Cyborg’s campaign to smear his name and call him a bully.

Cyborg told multiple media agencies that White had damaged her brand with his negative comments and accused him of workplace harassment.

Cyborg who came to the end of her UFC contract after her last fight gave White an ultimatum.

She wanted the UFC President to publically apologize for his behaviour failing which she would leave the UFC.

White called her bluff and not only did he not apologise but he told news reporters that he was not interested in resigning Cris Cyborg and waived the three month exclusive signing period that the UFC had with the Brazilian fighter, allowing her to become a free agent immediately.

White’s team also got Cris Cyborg to issue a public apology over an edited video where they made it appear that Dana White was bad mouthing Cyborg.

Cris Cyborg issued a public apology and claimed that she did not know her production team had edited the video. The fact that Cyborg had to apologize after giving White an ultimatum must have been difficult but Cyborg said that she was never too proud to issue an apology especially after she learnt that it was her team who messed up.

However, Dana White continued to hammer Cyborg in the media and stated that it must have hurt her bad to issue a public apology. He also reiterated the fact that Cyborg was running from the UFC as she did not want to face UFC double champ Amanda Nunez in a rematch. Cyborg who was the UFC bantamweight champ lost to Nunez at UFC232 in December 2018.

Cyborg Management Will Talk About Rematch

Cris Cyborg has repeatedly claimed that Dana White is lying about her not wanting to rematch Nunes. While Cyborg is no longer contracted to the UFC, she is still confident that she will be able to get her rematch.

The former baddest woman on the planet tweeted that her management team will meet with Dana White on August 8 to discuss the possibility of a rematch. Cyborg’s manager Auddie Attar has a good relationship with White as he manages some of the best MMA fighters in the game including Conor McGregor and Israel Stylebender’ Adesanya.

Should a deal be reached, it will most likely be a one-off fight between Cyborg and Nunez that will take place in Jan 2020.
