Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce to open 1587 Prime SteakhouseSummary:

  • Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and quarterback Patrick Mahomes are going into business.
  • The duo has partnered outside the field and they plan to open a steakhouse in Kansas City.
  • The upscale venue will be called 1587 Prime, hinting at the players’ jersey numbers.

Sometimes, NFL collaborations on the field between players extend way beyond it, turning into friendships and, on rare occasions, business partnerships.

This is also the case with two of Kansas City Chiefs’ highest-acclaimed players. Namely, quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce, who have announced they are now also partners off the field.

The duo has announced investing in a brand-new steakhouse in Kansas City, inside the Loews Kansas City Hotel.

1587 Prime Will Open at the Start of 2025

The upscale restaurant will be called 1587 Prime, a clever mix of the players’ jersey numbers on the team.

It will open sometime at the start of 2025 and feature “hyper-subtle nods to Patrick and Travis’ on-field accomplishments“.

The players will work together with Noble 33, a hospitality group with a portfolio that features a series of restaurants spread across Toronto, California, Hollywood, Scottsdale, Miami, Arizona, and Houston, among others.

In a statement issued for Good Morning America, Mahomes explained that the two had become frequent visitors of restaurants under the Noble 33 brand in other cities, which is why it would “made sense to bring something special” to their own community in Kansas City.

Kelce also took the opportunity to express their excitement “to be a part of this journey with Noble 33 to create a one-of-a-kind dining experience”, calling Kansas City the ideal location for their plan.

Noble 33 Co-founder: “They Are Natural Hosts”

Noble 33’s co-founder, Tosh Berman, called working with the two “incredible” as they are “longtime supporters” of their other restaurants.

Berman explained they worked together on mixing Kelce’s and Mahomes’ preferred elements of their game experiences while describing them as “natural hosts” expected to bring a one-of-a-kind modern American steakhouse experience to Kansas City.

The venue will measure 10,000 square feet and it will span across two floors featuring private dining rooms, an exquisite wine collection, and a spectacular meat display.

1587 Prime will be located approximately 10 miles away from Arrowhead Stadium, home of the back-to-back Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.
