The UFC Apex Center in Las Vegas will play host to another UFC Fight Night card on October 16.

The Main Event will be headlined by two women in the featherweight division as Aspen Ladd takes on Norma Dumont.

Former UFC featherweight champ Holly Holm was scheduled to fight Dumont and headline this card but Holm pulled out due to an injury. Aspen Ladd was scheduled to fight Macy Chiasson on Oct 3 in a bantamweight fight but the fight fell through after Ladd missed weight and looked like collapsing from her weight-cut.

Ladd is now going up a weight class to fight Dumont in a 5 round clash. Even though she is stepping up a weight class and taking a 5 round fight, she goes in as the favorite with odds of 1.77 while her Brazilian opponent has odds of 2.10.

Dumont is coming off two wins over Ashlee Evans-Smith and Felicia Spencer. Her last fight against Spencer was in May 2021 while Ladd’s last fight was back in 2019. We don’t know how the long layoff, the poor weight-cut earlier this month and a 5 round Main Event will impact Ladd’s performance.

However due to her superior striking skills, we are going to back Ladd to win.

The co-main event should be a banger of a fight as two heavyweight clash in what will be a slug fest. Veteran Andrei Arlovski 1.90 will take on Carlos Felipe 1.83. Arlovski is coming off a decision win over Chase Sherman in April 2021 while the Brazilian Felipe has won his last three fights in a row and has looked impressive.

We are going to back Felipe to win as he has a lot of power behind hit shots and can also take a big shot and keep coming.

MMA fans who like to see two fighters stand and bang will enjoy this middleweight scrap that opens the Main Card. Julian Marquez who is best remembered for asking Miley Cyrus out on a date during an Octagon interview will take on the dangerous Jordan Wright.

Marquez goes in as the betting favorite with odds of 1.40 while Wright has odds of 3.0. We are going to back Wright to win this fight.
