The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) which is the premier organization in the world of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) shutdown for the festive holidays in the US and UFC President Dana White headed over to Cabo San Lucas for some much needed downtime.
TMZ shocked MMA fans after it released a video of Dana White partying in Cabo San Lucas along with his wife Anne White. The video shows the two getting into a physical altercation with Anne White first slapping her husband and then Dana retaliating and slapping her twice. The two had to be separated by friends who were also partying with them.
White would later go on TMZ to confirm that the video was genuine and admit that he was embarrassed for what happened. White said he and his wife had too much to drink on New Year’s eve and things got out of hand. The UFC President said that he has said often in the past there is no excuse for a man to lay his hand on a woman and that applied to him in this instance as well.
White said he and his wife met when they were 12 years old and were married for 26 years now. White claimed that this was the first time this happened in their marriage and his biggest concern right now were for their three kids who have also watched the video.
Anne White also released a statement and confirmed that nothing like this has happened before and blamed it on too much alcohol. She said they had both apologized to each other and asked the media to respect their privacy.
Dana White has done a phenomenal job as UFC President and has said in the past that he has no plans to retire anytime soon. However, given the pressure of “cancel culture” there is pressure being imposed on the WME which owns the UFC to get rid of White as it is bad for the UFC’s reputation to have a President who has a record of hitting a woman.
Dana White recently launched a Power Slap League (PSL) were people slap each other for money and is getting flak on social media for self-promotion!
