BetAmericaBetAmerica has recently opened out retail sportsbooks in Colorado and Michigan, the latest in a series of launches by the sports betting brand as part of their massive US expansion efforts.

BetAmerica is the sportsbook brand of Churchill Downs Incorporated, a casino and racetrack operator. Their two new sportsbook locations are located inside Island Resort & Casino in Harris, Michigan, and at Bronco Billy’s Casino in Cripple Creek, Colorado.

The states of Colorado and Michigan are two of the newer states with legal gambling industries in the country. With their latest launches, BetAmerica is now present in six US states. In addition to Colorado and Michigan, BetAmerica is currently operational in New Jersey, Indiana, Mississippi and Pennsylvania.

Colorado

The BetAmerica retail sportsbook at Bronco Billy’s Casino offers 10 self-service betting terminals as well as two betting windows where punters can bet on several sports at once. Bets on mainstream American sports events are offered, as well as action on international events.

BetAmerica is reportedly eyeing an online launch soon, where punters can make sports bets online wherever they are physically present in the state. BetAmerica is currently awaiting approval to do so from Colorado gambling regulators.

BetAmerica’s Colorado foray was secured via their partnership with Full House Resorts, a Las Vegas-based casino operator. The Colorado launch was hailed by Bill Mudd, COO for Churchill Downs, noting that Colorado punters are some of the most enthusiastic sports bettors in the US.

General Manager for Bronco Billy’s Casino Baxter Lee stated that their long-time clients are thrilled to finally be able to bet on sports within the premises, expressing his confidence that BetAmerica’s betting kiosks will soon become a regular fixture among Colorado bettors.

Michigan Launch

BetAmerica launched in Michigan towards the end of September 2020. Their sportsbook inside the Island Resort & Casino contains 14 self-service betting terminals, supported by two betting windows. The sportsbook also maintains a state-of-the art viewing area for punters to check out live sports, with 25 large-screen televisions as well as an HD video wall.

BetAmerica’s Michigan partner, the Hannahville Indian Community, expressed their excitement at adding a sportsbook component to their casino business. Kenneth Mesigaud, the Tribal Chairperson, noted that the addition of a retail sportsbook on their premises complements the full-service entertainment suite they bring to the table, which includes a full-scale casino and 18-hole golf courses.

BetAmerica also plans on launching an online offering in Michigan soon.
