NHL Playoffs East Final: Hurricanes vs. Bruins – Game 4 Preview May 16, 2019 Adrian Sterne https://plus.google.com/u/0/107032931670136448831
Carolina Hurricanes vs. Boston Bruins

The Boston Bruins are looking to sweep their way into the Stanley Cup Finals tonight. They have a 3-0 edge over the Carolina Hurricanes and anything but a berth into the finals would be a disappointment.

The Bruins gave the Hurricanes their first home loss of the postseason and are looking to do it again with a game four victory. With the win the Bruins grabbed their sixth straight win of the postseason. The Bruins won the first two games of the series at home by a score of 5-2 and 6-2. The series then flipped to Carolina where the Bruins were victorious in the first Carolina home game 2-1.

All series long the Hurricanes have been struggling to stop the Bruins from scoring and they have been struggling to score themselves.

The Bruins come into the game as -120 favourites on the road with Bovada.

Bruins Seek a Sweep

Boston has been hot as of late and a win here would put them in a great spot for the Stanley Cup. The Bruins have won six games in a row and are looking to make it seven this evening. This year the Bruins are averaging 3.3 goals per game and are scoring on 31.9 percent of their power play opportunities during the postseason.

David Pastrnak leads Boston with six goals while Brad Marchand has 10 assists. On defense the Bruins have been really good so far this postseason. They are allowing just two goals per game and are killing their opponents powerplays 85.7 percent of the time. Tukka Rask has given up 52 goals on 525 shots that he has faced.

Hurricanes Try to Stay Alive

Now, the Hurricanes are just trying to avoid the sweep. With a few bad performances, Carolina finds themselves on the outside looking in as the Bruins have the advantage. The Hurricanes are averaging 2.7 goals a game and they are scoring on just 10 percent of their power play opportunities.

Teuvo Teravainen leads the Hurricanes with seven goals and Jaccob Slavin has added in 11 assists. Petr Mrazek has allowing 30 goals on 282 shots and Curtis McElhinney has given up six goals on 106 shots. The Hurricanes have allowed three or less goals in their last nine games a total of seven times.

Series Could be Over Tonight

It isn’t a question of if, but when. The Bruins are in full control of this series and there has been nothing done to make anyone feel like they won’t win it. The Hurricanes are reeling, and they are not in a good spot. Being down 3-0 in a series to advance to the Stanley Cup is not a good place to be in.

The Bruins are hoping to be able to finish this series off tonight so that they are able to gather a little extra rest before the Stanley Cup starts. With how Boston has been playing it is tough to pick against them, even as road favorites.

Take Boston to cruise into the finals.
