Conor McGregor Will Attend Press Conference Before Headlining UFC 246 January 17, 2020 Adrian Sterne https://plus.google.com/u/0/107032931670136448831

The last three weeks have been rather quiet for UFC fans as the promotion has not staged any fight cards so far. The UFC will begin 2020 with the return of Conor McGregor who is scheduled to fight Donald Cerrone at UFC 246 which takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Jan 18.

The Notorious Conor McGregor was once the biggest superstar in the UFC but a prolonged absence from the Octagon and the fact that he is no longer a champion has caused his popularity to drop.

That being said, the Irish superstar is still a massive draw as his thrash talking and fighting style in the Octagon has captivated MMA fans all over the world.

UFC – Ultimate Fighting Championship

UFC fans have gone used to multiple press conferences and thrash talk from McGregor in the lead up to a fight. However, this time around there has been very little media coverage as McGregor has preferred to keep a low profile and work on his fight game.

The UFC will hold just one presser before UFC 246. The promotion has confirmed that a press conference featuring McGregor and Cowboy will take place on January 15 at the Pearl Theater in Las Vegas.

Cowboy recently told the media that he was prepared for McGregor’s thrash talk as he was a master at it. However, if McGregor decided to verbally attack his son or grandmother, Cowboy will have a go at him and not wait to step inside the octagon.

Conor McGregor will be fighting at welterweight where he has a 1-1 record. He is still the favourite as BetOnline have him at -337 and Cerrone at +277. If McGregor goes on to win the fight, he will likely go after Jorge Masvidal as it is highly unlikely that he will be able to get another title crack at the UFC lightweight championship without winning a fight at 155.

UFC 246: Other Fights To Watch Out For

Some of the other fights to watch out for on this main card include the co-main event featuring Holly Holm vs. Raquel Pennington 2, Anthony Pettis vs. CarlosDiego Ferreira and Claudia Gadelha vs. Alexa Grasso.

There are also some great fights on the preliminary card. Fights to watch out for include Roxanne Modafferi vs. Maycee Barber, Andre Fili vs. Sodiq Yusuff and Drew Dober vs. Nasrat Haqparast.
