Boxing promoters for some reason or the other like to play around with their match making and force fans to wait for months and sometimes even years to see the fights that everyone wants to watch.

The fight between heavyweights Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury on 1 December 2018 will go down as one of the best heavyweight boxing matches in history.

The fight ended in a split decision draw and the two fighters have vowed to have a rematch to find out who is the baddest man on the planet.

Don’t Go The Anthony Joshua Way

However, the rematch did not happen as Wilder decided to fight Dominic Breazeale in May and won by another impressive KO. Brit Tyson Fury decided to fight in Las Vegas for the first time and signed up to fight German boxer Tom Schwarz who did not prove much of a challenge as he was knocked out in the second round.

The boxing world has now called for the promoters to fix Wilder vs. Fury 2 next and not go the Anthony Joshua way.

Anthony Joshua was considered the biggest name in the heavyweight division holding 3 of the 4 belts. Fans always wanted to see him fight Deontay Wilder but his promoter Eddie Hearn kept putting it off and finding him other opponents. Joshua fought for the first time at Madison Square Garden (MSG) on June 1 and took on Anthony Ruiz Jr who pulled of a surprise victory, giving Joshua his first loss.

The boxing world does not want the same thing to happen to Wilder or Fury and prefer to see them fight again before they challenge other opponents. However, their cries are falling on deaf ears as the camps of both fighters are going in another direction.

Wilder Will Fight Luis Ortiz

Wilder’s camp has already confirmed that their next fight will be against Luis Ortiz. Wilder fought Ortiz back in March 2018 and won by KO but it was the toughest fight of his career. For some reason they want to run it back again and use the fight to build the hype for Wilder vs. Fury 2.

Tyson Fury is also expected to fight again either in late September or early October at MSG. They are yet to sign an opponent but the strategy is the same. To get Fury more attention in America in his next fight and then make Wilder vs. Fury 2 in 2020 as the biggest heavyweight fight in the world.

Those plans who could go wrong if Wilder or Fury end up losing their next fight!
