Brit Joshua will have the advantage of fighting on home soil and the support of the home fans behind him. He goes in as the betting favorite with odds of 1.40 while the Usyk is a big underdog with odds of 3.25 with William Hill.

While the bookmakers have Usyk as a big betting underdog, we think Usyk will give Joshua a tough challenge and does have a chance of pulling off a surprise win. The 34 year old has never lost in his career and has a record of 18 fights with 13 of those by KO. He is a decorated boxer and is the first cruiserweight in the history of the sport to hold all 4 major world titles (WBA, WBO WBC and IBF titles).

What will be challenging for Usyk is that he does not have a lot of experience at heavyweight and will be the smaller of the two fighters in the ring. Will he be able to withstand the power of Joshua and be able to hurt Joshua who is the younger fighter at 31 years.

Joshua said what makes Usyk dangerous is his southpaw stance and the fact that he has fought many conventional fighters throughout his career. Joshua said he has had to work hard to prepare for a fight with a southpaw fighter and learn how to position his feet and prepare for a different challenge.

Joshua has had only 5 weeks to prepare for this fight but knows how important it is for him to win and win impressively. A win for Joshua will then put him on course to fight Tyson Fury which could be the biggest heavyweight boxing fight in decades. If Fury loses to Wilder, then Joshua will most likely have to prepare to fight Wilder.

For now, Joshua is not looking past Usyk but believes the size difference and his experience at heavyweight will help him get past Usky on Saturday night.
