Tom Brady

NFL commentators and fans wrote of the New England Patriots this season and had some harsh words for future Hall of Famer Tom Brady who admittedly wasn’t at his best.

However, the Patriots made their critics eat their words as they launched a tremendous comeback that saw that make it to the Super Bowl.

The Patriots will take on the Los Angeles Rams on 3 Feb and they will certainly not want to finish on the losing side as they did last season to the Philadelphia Eagles.

While Super Bowl Sunday approaches and NFL fever reaches its highest pitch, all eyes are once again on veteran Tom Brady. There have been rumours of retirement floating around for a number of years as some expect the 41 year old to walk into the sunset for good if the Patriots win.

Tom Brady squashed all those rumours by reiterating the fact that he has no plans of retiring. The quarterback confirmed that whether the Patriots end up winning or losing the Super Bowl, he will continue to play in the NFL and stick to his goal of trying to play till he turns 45.

In a statement, Brady said

I’ve set a goal for myself at 45 and like I said before, it’s very hard to make it that far. I know how hard it was this year, you know, and the commitment it takes and hopefully I’ve learned from some of the things that happened this year to be better next year. But every year’s tough.

Got More Super Bowls Left In Him

There was talk at the start of the season that this could be the final year that Brady spends with the Patriots as his relationship with head coach Bill Belichick was strained.

However, Brady’s emphatic statement on not retiring anytime soon will come as good news to the Patriots and owner Robert Kraft who had earlier said that he wished Brady would play on for another season with the Patriots.

Brady who is known for his extremely work ethic will turn 42 in August. He said that he still believes he has more to offer the sport and knows that he has it within him to continue to play at championship level. Brady has won five Super Bowls so far in his career and has a chance on Sunday night to make it six.
