Patriots Owner Happy To See Solicitation Charges Against Him Dismissed September 25, 2020 Adrian Sterne https://plus.google.com/u/0/107032931670136448831

Robert KraftRobert Kraft, the owner of the New England Patriots caused quite a media stir when it came to light that he paid for sex in Jupiter, Florida. The owner of the six time Super Bowl champions who has a net worth of over $6 billion was said to have received sexual services on two occasions at the Orchids of Asia Day Spa in early 2019.

The main evidence against Kraft was video recordings of the incident. However, these video records were never made public nor were they submitted in court. Due to the lack of video evidence, the prosecution decided that it had no option but to drop all charges against Robert Kraft.

The prosecution had earlier claimed that the Orchids of Asia Day Spa had a reputation for being a brothel house. Kraft was charged along with 24 other individuals who had allegedly visited the spa for sexual services. Kraft was slapped with a misdemeanour and 2 counts of soliciting prostitutes.

The videos were not submitted in court because Kraft’s legal team argued that when Kraft and other customers visited the spa, they expected a certain level of privacy. Making those videos public would allegedly be violating their privacy rights and hence could no longer be labelled as valid evidence.

An appeal court agreed with Kraft’s defense and said that the videos could not be submitted as evidence. With the videos being removed from the case, there was no other concrete evidence to convict Kraft. As a result, all charges against him as well as the other 24 members have now been dropped.

Kraft Maintains Innocence

Robert Kraft will certainly be happy to see the solicitation charges against him dropped. He had pleaded not guilty to the charges in 2019 but admitted that he had disappointed and hurt his family, close friends and co-workers with his behaviour. Kraft is now keen to get the video evidence destroyed so that it can no longer be used against him at a later date.

The prosecutors have decided to let the case go by filing two nolle prosequi notices – which means that they will no longer appeal the case or proceed with further prosecutions. While Kraft is off the hook in the court of law, it is possible that the NFL might take action against him for his behaviour.

It is also possible that the NFL might sweep this matter under the rug and move forward as Kraft is one of the top NFL franchise team owners and has a big say in the NFL.
