Diego MaradonaDiego Maradona will be mourned forever in Argentina as the soccer legend was laid to rest last week after suffering a heart attack at the age of 60. Millions of fans in Argentina thronged the streets to bid farewell to Diego Maradona who received a state funeral.

Diego Maradona left behind an inheritance of nearly $90 million but did not leave behind any will. This is surprising to a lot of people, given the fact that Maradona has battled health issues for over a decade. Since no will is specified, one can expect a number of people to come forward to claim a part of the $90 million inheritance.

CurioSips

Maradona had threatened in the past to give away all his money to charity. However, Argentina has laws that prevent an individual from giving away 100 percent of their fortune to charity. The law says that 2/3rd of the inheritance must go to the spouse or the children of the deceased.

Maradona has been accused in the past of fathering a number of children which he denied but over the years slowly admitted to some of those ‘rumours’. He has two daughters (Giannina and Dalma) who are in their 30s from his childhood sweetheart Claudia Villafane. He had a son with Cristiana Sinagra, an Italian singer who named the boy Diego Junior.

He also had another son in 2013 with Veronica Ojeda and the son was named Diego Ojeda. He also has a daughter with Valeria Sabalain named Jana.

Maradona’s lawyer Matias Morla will have his work cut out as he sorts through the inheritance claims.

Maradona’s Doctor Being Investigated For Negligence

Maradona was admitted for a brain surgery in early November and would die a couple of weeks later from a heart attack. There have been allegations of medical negligence and one of his doctors Leopoldo Luque has had his home raided by the cops.

Luque who is a neurologist had all of his medical records concerning Maradona’s treatment confiscated. The police seized cell phones, hard drives and computers from the doctors home and will open an investigation into the same.

Luque has denied any wrongdoing and claims that he wasn’t the only one who treated Maradona. The doctor admitted that Maradona had kicked him out of his house on multiple occasions and said he was a very difficult patient to deal with. Luque said Diego Maradona did what Diego Maradona wanted to do and there was no one who could talk sense to him.

The authorities have not arrested Luque or accused him of any wrongdoing as of now.
